THE CITY The city is a set of many things: memories, desires, signs of a language, cities are places of exchange. but these are not only trade in goods, are exchanging words, desires, memories. (Italo Calvino)
writers have frequently represented the city as places for setting of many stories: the background of the events often became the subject of the narrative, almost a real character.
We will start by a brief text by contemporary authors, but also from readers to develop language skills and cultural knowledge that will lead us to some Italian cities with all their wonders and contradictions.
explore the city not only through literary texts but also through music, images and film clips. (the latter only if you have a laptop)

It begins with the reading of texts to arrive at a deeper understanding of the text itself and after stimulation of human being, students are then asked to analyze, discuss and address the issues raised.
